Paris’ Wonderful Covered Passages Private Walking Tour

Your guide will take you through these secret passages and shopping arcades on a wonderful walk. The covered passages are a set of arcades constructed between buildings to improve traffic flow and to also create shopping galleries.

Located on the Rive Droite and near the main boulevards, these structures were created for wealthy clients. The passages had their heyday in the first half of the 19th century and were numbered to be more than 130 at that time.

They were abandoned following the construction of Hausmann’s great works and the emergence of department stores.
