Suggestion – Strasbourg

Walking the tightrope between France and Germany, Strasbourg Grande-Île was the first urban center in France to be listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. You will discover the delightfully twisting alleyways lined with half-timbered houses and a Gothic masterpiece of a cathedral, described by Victor Hugo as “a gigantic and delicate marvel” and visible from miles around with its 142-meter spire.

You can also explore the ‘Petite France’ which is a picture-postcard quarter once home to tanners, fishermen, and millers, now a haven of peace at the city’s heart. Strasbourg has also become renowned for its cuisine.

Day 2: Strasbourg

A unique gourmet morning in Strasbourg

A tasty tour for gourmets and food lovers!

In this walking tour, your guide will take you to discover the Grande Ile (a Unesco World Heritage site), around the old pedestrian areas, the Cathedral, and the Petite France neighborhood. Strasbourg has so much more to offer including the visit of the German district, as well as the old city centers around its Gothic cathedral – Our Lady of Strasbourg. This elegant cathedral was built of red sandstone and was described by Victor Hugo as a “gigantic and delicate marvel”.

Historically, the Petite France neighborhood was the poor section of the city occupied by mills and tanneries, both of which depended on the river and its downward-flowing branches to support their work. Today, the neighborhood is one of the most charming of Strasbourg with its colorful 16th and 17th-century half-timbered houses such as the ‘Maison des Tanneurs’.

During the tour, you will stop in some of the best shops of the city enjoying tastings of local cheese, chocolate, and the local pastry called Kougelhopf.

Aperitive cruise with a bottle of Champagne and snacks

On this sightseeing cruise, you will experience the historic and heritage treasures in the European capital.

You can relax and enjoy the view over the buildings that have a wealth of varied architecture. You will see the unique architecture which comes in chronological order and each is more impressive than the previous one. During this urban trip on the river, your sightseeing cruise gives you an all-round view of the city – Petite France, and the European quarter.

Day 3: Colmar - Eguisheim - Strasbourg

Full-day private guided driving tour on the Alsace Wine Route

You will savor some local wines and cheeses during an exclusive wine and cheese lunch which is uniquely prepared for you by a wine grower and a master cheesemaker.

Afterward, you will get to see the marvelous beauty of Eguisheim. It is a medieval village which is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. You can let yourself be charmed by its picturesque streets, its half-timbered houses, its castle, and its surrounding vineyards.

Finally, you will head to an Alsace winery which will open its doors to you for an exclusive visit to its cellar. There, you get to taste some great Alsace wines from Alsace’s terroir.
