Day 1: Sarlat - Vitrac

As you stroll through the cobbled streets of the medieval city, remember to look up to observe the architectural richness of the monuments. With its history dating back to the Middle Ages, Sarlat has an exceptional heritage to photograph. This city of Art and History is the first protected sector in France to have been restored thanks to the 1964 Malraux law. Since 1928, famous filmmakers have decided to use Sarlat’s medieval scenery as a location for many cult films
Day 2: Sarlat - Castelnaud-la-Chapelle - Monbazillac - Bergerac - Vitrac
Full-Day Private Guided Dordogne Gastronomy and Wine Traditions Tour
Your private guide will take you from Sarlat Caneda to begin a day focused on gastronomy and wine in the region.
First, you will stop to discover a farm located 10 minutes from Sarlat called “The Geese of the Black Périgord.” You will find livestock breeding and taste the local products. Then, you will head toward Castelnaud La Chapelle, where you will have the opportunity to visit an eco-museum of walnuts and a truffle farm. If you’re hungry, that’s the perfect spot for a light lunch.
The next stop will be in the village of Castelnaud, under the protection of an impressive castle. You will visit a small organic chocolate shop before a last stop on the way back. You will have the possibility to enjoy a tasting of local wine, the Vin de Domme.
Day 3: Saint-Cyprien - Vitrac
Full day Cooking Class with Lunch
This unique one-day cooking course course, right in the heart of the Perigord Noir, starts with you meeting with the chef. A welcome drink is served on the terrace. Then, in a relaxed environment, the chef will begin with a short presentation of the traditional ingredients of the region, how to identify the best types of produce, and what to look for in the local markets.
After this, you will head to the outdoor kitchen to experience a fun, informative, hands-on day of preparing, cooking, and eating famous regional dishes such as confit of duck, cabecou, & tapenade. The menu changes according to the season each year.
The chef is passionate about sharing insights on how to prepare, cook and serve consistently great food. He thrives on teaching participants how to showcase the natural flavors of the high-quality, fresh local produce for which the Perigord Noir is famous. You will leave with renewed insight on how to maximize ingredients’ natural flavors and a host of other great tips for cooking consistently great food.
The course finishes between 3 and 4 pm. By this time, you will be overflowing with renewed inspiration and knowledge of traditional Perigordian cooking. You will also receive a copy of recipes cooked during the course.
After the class ends, you can sit down to enjoy the three-course lunch you’ve prepared & you can pair your meal with a regional wine or non-alcoholic beverage.
Day 4: Cahors - Saint Cirq-Lapopie - Vitrac

A driver will pick you up at your hotel at the beginning of the day and drive you safely troughout the day.
Lunch Cruise
Cruise lunch between Cahors and Saint Cirq Lapopie
At 9:30 am, board the Fénélon for a commented cruise on the Lot. Then you will have lunch over the water (drinks not included). In the afternoon, you will discover Saint Cirq Lapopie on foot. At the end of the day, return to Cahors.

Its position was initially selected for defense purposes, perched on a cliff 330 feet (100 meters) above the River Lot. The town is one of the best-preserved areas and resembles an open-air museum of the 13th through 16th centuries. After it was “discovered” by the Post-Impressionist Henri Martin, it became popular with other artists and was the home of the famous surrealist writer André Breton.
