Almost unknown outside the Nice, the wines of Bellet and of Saint-Jeannet are the heirs of thousands of years of history. From the middle of the 19th century until World War II, the French Riviera became the arbiter of elegance in terms of architecture and way of life. Victorian, Belle Époque, Roaring Twenties, Art Nouveau, and Modernism – there is something for everyone.

This version of the Riviera still exists, although hidden and well-preserved. Of course, we will also consider modern and contemporary architecture.

Overnight Stay with Breakfast in a Standard Room at a 4-star Hotel in Monte Carlo.

Day 6: Monte Carlo

Full-day Private Tour of Monaco with Licensed Driver Guide: The Principality Through the Ages, with Menton and Roquebrune

Your licensed driver-guide will pick you from your accommodation for a full-day tour.

The Principality of Monaco is much more than what people believe.

Beyond the exclusive resort for an international jet set, there’s a fascinating story. Let your guide tell you the history of the only nation in the world founded by a single family, the Grimaldis, and spend a day in the last example of a European city-state.

To appreciate the “authentic” Monaco you must understand how an isolated perched village became a prosperous country that attracts the largest fortunes of the world. For that, we’ll take you to Menton, the gorgeous “pearl of France” and to Roquebrune, a typically medieval village with the oldest castle in France. Both were part of Monaco until 1848, and both are equally splendid.

You will then discover the second smallest country in the world with a different perspective.

Visit Monte-Carlo and its famous casino, the historic town perched on “the rock,” the antique port Hercules, the Larvotto seaside and its Japanese garden, the reclaimed land of Fontvieille, and of course the legendary circuit of the F1 Grand Prix.

By request: see the exotic garden, the Prince’s ancient car collection, the prehistoric museum, or visit the palace (entrances not included).

Highlights include: the Upper Corniche, Menton, Roquebrune Village, Cap Martin, Rock of Monaco, F1 Grand Prix, Japanese Garden, Monte-Carlo, Fontvieille.

Overnight Stay with Breakfast in a Standard Room at a 4-star Hotel in Monte Carlo.
