Arrival at your accommodation

After the check-in, you will have the rest of the day to visit the surroundings.

Suggestion: Visit the Côte Fleurie

The coastal resorts east of Caen are often referred to as the ‘Normandy Riviera’ or the ‘Côte Fleurie.’ A train line from Paris to Calvados opened in the nineteenth century, bringing the wealthy from Paris to the coast, where they built luxurious hotels and mansions. It is still this architecture that sets the character of the resorts today.

The towns of Deauville and Trouville are the best-known resorts here and have numerous attractive examples of Belle Epoque architecture and famous beaches. In Deauville, you will also see the famous brightly colored parasols on the beach. Other resorts that are popular with summer visitors to Calvados include Cabourg and Houlgate.

A visit to the coastal town of Honfleur is also highly recommended, with its harbor surrounded by historic buildings being one of the most attractive in France. Those fond of history will want to visit Dives-sur-Mer, the town from which William the Conqueror launched his fleet to conquer Britain.

Day 2: Mont Saint-Michel

Private helicopter flight over the D-Day Beaches

From Caen-Carpiquet airport, discover a real open-air museum!

The beaches along the coast still show many traces of the D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy, such as batteries, bunkers and cemeteries including the famous American Cemetery.

This guided flight will allow you to take a look at this memorable day of June 6, 1944 during which nearly 155,000 soldiers launched themselves into a battle that would seal the outcome of the Second World War. It is also an opportunity to contemplate the magnificent natural heritage that these preserved beaches represent. It is a whole page of History that will unfold before your eyes.

Abbaye Mont Saint Michel – After hours private guided visit

The Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel is an abbey complex and beautiful pilgrimage place built on Mont Saint-Michel. Usually, it is surrounded by vast sandbanks and becomes an island only when the tides are very high. The heritage site stands at the top of the mountain and is a huge property of spectacular rooms that have evolved over hundreds of years from the first sanctuary built here in the 8th century. In this after-hours tour, your guide will lead you through the Abbaye and tell you the history and legends of this incredible site and you will get an opportunity to see places normally closed to the public.

Normandy was on every newspaper front page around the world. The biggest amphibious force ever assembled was about to try breaking through Fortress Europa. 156,000 Allied personnel landed on D-Day, making it the introduction of the last chapter of WWII in Europe.

During your day tour, you will see both Utah Beach and Omaha Beach landing sites, which were the two American sectors. Discover the mighty cliffs that the rangers climbed at the Pointe du Hoc, as well as Sainte-Mère-Eglise: the first town in France to be liberated by the US Airborne Division.
