Amboise is also the location of Leonardo da Vinci’s last home, the Château du Clos Lucé. The Farmers Market offers a large choice of products and local specialties.

The imposing Château de Chinon built dominates the entire town of Chinon and sits on a spur overlooking the Vienne River. Rich in history, it dates back more than a thousand years when it was built on an ancient Gallo-Roman fortress.

You will enter the château by a gate through the remains of the old Fort of Saint-Georges, belonging to the three parts of the castle. You will then visit the clock tower and the royal chambers, exhibiting presentations of the people who once inhabited the castle and shaped its history over the centuries.

The castle also holds the Joan of Arc Museum.
