Day 1: Caen - Crépon

Upon arrival in Caen, an automatic compact class rental car with navigation system will be available for a period of 7 days. This will allow you to move freely.

Rental car at your disposal from Caen airport or train station.

Day 2: Langrune Sur Mer - Crépon

Boat Trip along the Coast of the Calvados Rocks

Aboard a caravel, a stable and performant training boat which owes its name to the famous sailing boat used by the Portuguese explorers, you will discover the exceptional beauty of the Calvados Coast. Sports enthusiasts may want to choose a stand up paddle boarding for transport!

You will have the opportunity to wander along the rocky banks and small islands at low tide, and explore its rich wildlife. Your guide will be happy to draw your attention to rare and fascinating species!

Day 3: Cabourg - Crépon

Free Day in Cabourg

The Cabourg tourist office proposes various trips into the history of this sea resort.

Why not choose a stroll along the streets of Cabourg in company of Eglantine, a young lady from the Belle Epoque who will take you on a time travel back to the turn of the century in the 1900s to make you discover the typical family life of those days. Who were these vacationers visiting this summer retreat? How did they experience the epoch-making inventions such as electricity, cinematography and automobile? Enjoy this original and entertaining trip into history which will be fun for the whole family.

Every Friday in July and August – departure at 10 a.m. at the tourist office of Cabourg – duration: 1.5 hours – entrance fee: 6 €.
This service is not included in the travel offer and is to be booked and paid directly at the tourist office.

Day 4: Bayeux - Crépon

Free Day in Bayeux

Take a trip to the Medieval town of Bayeux and visit the Cathedral Notre Dame de Bayeux, a masterpiece of Roman art and Norman Gothic architecture. Culture and history enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice between the three museums of the town (one entrance ticket for the “three-pack”!): the renowned Bayeux Tapestry Museum, listed in the UNESCO world heritage, the Musée d'art et d'histoire Baron Gérard (labeled Museum of France), and the Musée mémorial de la Bataille de Normandie (Memorial Museum of the Invasion of Normandy) located directly in front of the landing beach.

While strolling along the narrow cobbled alleys, you will admire the many elegant town houses built in the 17th and 18th century.

On Saturday mornings, farmers and small producers from Le Bessin come together to display their fresh produce, delicious regional specialties and artisan-made products on market stalls.

Day 5: Mery Corbon - Crépon

Immerse yourself in the Universe of an Authentic Dairy Farm amidst the Normandy countryside

You will start your immersion in the life of a typical dairy farm with a tasting of beverages made from home-grown apples (cider or apple juice).

After this refreshment, you will head to the pasture where the famous herds of Normandy cows are peacefully chewing fresh lush grass. The cattle-breeder will happily make use of the occasion to tell you about the farm and the particularities of the cattle breed – ask him all the questions you have in mind!

By then, time will be ripe for taking the cows to the milking parlor, this is the dogs’ job, just follow them! Along the way, your guide will let you in on the details of a typical farmer’s work day in Normandy. You are welcome to participate in the tasks and feed the calf with a bottle!

The milking done, it will be high time to lend a hand and produce your own tasty Normandy butter! At the occasion of a tasting, the farmers will show you the processing of the various dairy products.

This is a playful and interesting activity for all who have always to participate in the farm life of Normandy.

Day 6: Saint-Étienne-la-Thillaye - Crépon

Cooking Class in a Traditional Norman Farmhouse

Brigitte will invite you into her kitchen and show you how to dress typical specialties of Normandy: chicken supreme blaze with Calvados (an apple brandy), scallops in all their forms, desserts (crème à la Normande, Calvados soufflé and traditional tarts).

After the cooking class (1.5 hours), you will enjoy the meal around the table in a convivial and warm atmosphere.

Brigitte will welcome you in a unique green setting amidst pastures, meadows, apple trees and cows. Her picturesque traditionally built Norman farmhouse will make you travel back in time and ensure a total change of scenery!

Day 7: Omaha Beach - Crépon

Suggestion: Free Bike Ride to Omaha Beach

From Bayeux you will cycle northwards to Omaha Beach and the American military cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer. Before heading back to Bayeux, we advise a detour to Port-en-Bessin, a picturesque small fishing village. A longer itinerary will take you to the stunning lookout Pointe du Hoc, a promontory with a 100 ft cliff overlooking the English Channel.

It was the scene of combat between the allied and Nazi German troops in the course of the Operation Overlord and features today a memorial and a museum dedicated to the battle. Many of the original fortifications have been left in place.

Bike rental: 12€ per person and per day (at your hotel).

Day 8: Caen

End of the trip

Unfortunately, it is already time to leave! You must return your rental car at the train station in Caen.
