Day 2: Ludon-Médoc - Bordeaux

Visit of a hundred-year-old Cooperage and Gourmet Lunch in the Médoc Region


Christine is proud to carry on the traditional craft of a cooper, mastered by her family since 1902. Happy to share her love of wine and its aromas, she will open her cooperage for you.

She will introduce you to the manufacturing of barrels, the adequate choice of staves, the heating technique and long-established working methods.

Follow the beguiling scent of the heated oak barrels and learn about a craft practiced since antiquity!


Your visit will end in style in the family-owned restaurant where you will be served a revisited traditional meal accompanied by a choice of wines from the property.

Day 3: Saint-Léon - Bordeaux

Discover the History of a Family-Owned Vineyard of the Appellation Côte de Buzet


Jacques is a winegrower and an enologist. Through the history of the vineyard his family has owned for five hundred years, he will let you in on the finesses of winegrowing.


From the estate he will take you for a stroll through the woods to the vineyards where you can discover the soul of wine, praised by Charles Baudelaire in his famous poem. You will also learn a great deal about the history of the Lot-de-Garonne, cultivation methods, the soils and the region’s special micro climate.


The stroll will finish in style in the family-owned wine cellar with a tasting of the organically grown wine. Savor the fine wine!


You will walk along a six-kilometer long stretch with sloping paths, clayey and sandy soil.


Duration: around 3 hours - guided tour in French or English – in groups up to 14 participants.




Dinner at a Local Home


This is the perfect occasion for a moment of gastronomic pleasure together with your local hosts.


Helena and her husband live in a pretty house not far from the Bordeaux city center. They have recently renovated their home.


While her husband - a wine expert - will take care of the wine, Helena, a passionate cook, will serve you a lovely homemade dinner.


Around a nicely laid table in a convivial atmosphere, you will enjoy a top-quality home-cooked regional menu made from fresh ingredients.

Day 4: Cadaujac - Bordeaux


Bike Tour through a Vineyard in the South-West of Bordeaux

Pascale is a passionate enologist and organizes workshops on the theme: “an encounter of a wine and its history.” She will welcome you on her vineyard from the 14th century producing the appellation Pessac-Léognan.

The two-hour long bike tour will take you through the terroir of the Graves and the Bordeaux. All along your stroll, Pascale will be happy to show you the grape varieties and tell you about the history of the region.

Back at the Chateau, you will visit the wine cellars where the wine is aging in oak barrels. After the outdoor activity, you deserve a tasting. You can trust Pascale for giving you good advice, she will serve you a fine wine!

For Pascale, wine tasting is an art de vivre – but it needs a terroir, the sweat of the wine-makers and their employees, as well as a special climate.

You will be accommodated in a typical Bordeaux stone house with garden and terrace at the heart of the city center and close to the Place de la Victoire. Public transport and shops are within walking-distance. On the first floor you dispose of a spacious room with double bed and a private bathroom with shower and toilets. Brigitte and Henry live on the ground floor. In a cozy atmosphere, you will be served a tasty breakfast. You can use the kitchen for the preparation of your meals or enjoy a homemade local specialty together with yours hosts. The extra charge is to be paid on-site. Your hosts will be happy to provide you with insider tips on Bordeaux and its surroundings! Parking space, WIFI and visitor’s tax are included - Services arising from sharing economy.
